Let's celebrate International Churros Day!

Did you know that November 11 is International Churro Day? We invite you to celebrate with us, enjoying any of our delicious products with your family and friends.

It is unknown who established this date to celebrate the day of the churro, perhaps it could be thought that it is due to the traditional shape of the canes and the similarity to the number 1; how can you not eat just one, what better than 11/11 to commemorate this day? It is believed that the origins of the churro date back to the 12th century, with the creation of youtiao in China, in honor of General Yue Fei who was assassinated by Minister Qin Hui. Youtiao consists of fried salty bread dough. Over the centuries, thanks to the exploration trips made by the Portuguese, this recipe was taken to Europe, where they added sugar and changed the star shape as we know it today. It was not until the 18th century, in Spain, that they gave it the name of Churro as we know it in the West, in honor of the churra sheep, since the shepherds prepared this dessert to consume it in the heights of the mountains. The Spanish bring churros to the American continent, at the time of colonization and in each country they gave their own combinations thanks to the versatility of this dessert.
